Keep your active font list short to optimize performance. Fonts you deactivate are available in the Previously active tab inside the Creative Cloud desktop app, so you can easily activate them again at any time. I think it's their way of getting you to go strictly online which I am opposed to. I bought and paid for my CS3 so why should I have to give it up because they no longer support it?
